Identify the Production Constraint

Review the products that create the difficulty. Include dimensions, mass, material, geometry, incoming condition and surfaces requiring treatment. A rotary table can present supported parts to a blast stream, but suitability depends on the arrangement and load limits. Parts hidden by fixtures or neighbouring components may need a different orientation or process.

Define the required visual cleanliness, profile and contamination checks where applicable. Agree the inspection method and locations before comparing cycle times. A faster setting is not an improvement if it leaves parts outside the specification.

Assess access, surface compatibility, waste handling and protective measures for each option. No method is universally unsuitable or automatically compliant solely because of its name.

Include the proposed extraction, recovery and handling systems in the comparison. Review floor space, utilities and maintenance access. A short blast cycle does not establish the capacity of the surrounding production line.

Plan the Trial and Implementation

Document the candidate settings, abrasive working mixture, load arrangement and acceptance criteria. Keep trial results linked to the tested parts and conditions. Resolve any inaccessible or unevenly treated areas before approving routine processing.

Before installation, agree responsibilities for layout, utilities, transfers, protective functions, commissioning and operator instruction. Review safe loading and isolation for maintenance. Obtain equipment instructions, wear-part information and a clear handover list.

Use Evidence for the Investment Decision

Compare the accepted-output records and complete operating-cost assumptions with the current process. Account for changeovers, maintenance and integration work instead of extrapolating from blast time alone. Any forecast remains conditional on those assumptions until supported by actual operating evidence.

Use the review to identify the conditions under which the proposed process is suitable and the evidence still needed before purchase or production release.
